- Woke up in a new house with roommates who actually like and talk to me. Sat around in pajamas, laughed, talked, and ate brownies straight out of the pan.
- Met my friend Juanita for breakfast/coffee at Urban Standard, and then went to a quirky antique shop.
- Went to the Apple store and bought a Macbook from a very attractive sales guy named John.
- Came home and set up said Macbook and admired it for a couple of hours.
- Took pictures of old trains and other rusty things (pictures to come whenever I get all the necessary software on the new computer.)
- Drove to Montevallo for more pictures.
- Ate spring rolls with Charlene, Dan, Patrick, and John.
- Laid in Charlene's yard on blankets and drank wine.
- Ate more brownies straight from the pan.

What software do you need? Your Mac comes PERFECTLY set up! :D
I am SO J!! what a lovely day.
you should invite John cute salesguy over for a 'tutorial'...
Oh wow- sounds fabulous! :)
Can't wait to see photos.
michael - just the software that came with my camera. which is the least user-friendly crap ever.
elisa - don't think i didn't consider it. good news, though ... dan used to work for apple in new york. jackpot!
you don't need to load the software from your camera. i wouldn't... you can use image uploader or iphoto on your macbook. just plug it in.
fun times! you are going to love your macbook!!! you'll never be the same ;) run quickly away from any software that came w/ your camera, which you are going to love, too, by the way!
we were at urban standard and a quirky antiques store yesterday, as well. i totally expected to see you when we walked in, but alas, we missed you. i am officially in love w/ that place.
I agree with all of the people who told you to ditch the camera software. Mac = awesome.
ok, i'm just jealous of that day...
and for the fact you have a macbook...im typing on one now, and i LOVE it.
missing you guys already...i totally feel like debby downer....i am sure my travel companions love me right now....oh well
:)
that IS a very good day. i don't even bother actually baking the brownies most of the time. and once you mac, you never go back...i think that's how that one goes, right? ;)
now you can prowl the coffee shop scene with your new computer like all the other cool kids. i always hated using my old Dell from hell when i wanted to 'work in public," and i always felt like the kid who brought the stinky lunch...truth be told, Ash's cookness went way up when I saw that he had a mac. haha!
coolness, i meant coolness. and so glad you have such awesome roomies now too. :)
