one step closer

i have started to play the piano again. it has taken me nine years to pick it back up. after my short stint as a vocal performance major in college, playing music, even singing for a while, was the last thing that i wanted to do. there's something about failing music theory and feeling like an idiot in all of your classes that will tragically turn you off to something that you love. i had forgotten how fulfilling the piano always was for me. the hours that i used to spend on that bench, playing until my fingers were frozen and my eyes hurt from staring at those tiny black dots that somehow made it from the page and into my hands. i love it. i want to play jazz.
