My friend Bridgett is an avid Bon Jovi fan. So in celebration of her birthday this week, a group of us went to the Barking Kudu to see "Slippery When Wet." That's right folks - a Bon Jovi cover band. It was one of the most bizarre, sad, and enjoyable things I've seen in a while. Here are some things we witnessed throughout the evening:
- Band members who looked and sounded like Bon Jovi. It was a little eerie. And their skin-tight jeans were very disturbing. Especially in the crotchal region.
- Skanky, thirty-something women grinding on each other. It was the saddest thing I have ever seen.
- A skeezy little guy who stood next to us the whole time and pretended to be our friend. He kept looking at us as if to say, "This is awesome. I am so glad we came." Then would proceed to raise his beer and shake it at the band in a show of total dedication and ultimate bliss.
- A woman in a stonewashed denim jacket with "Bon Jovi" embroidered on the back.
- A lot of other stonewashed denim jackets.
- Forty-something man in said jacket with a curly, balding mullet who also stared at us all night.
- Girl from my high school - always weird in and of itself. Throw in a Bon Jovi cover band, and you've just stepped into the twilight zone.
- Large amounts of ass grabbing, making out, and "The Sway" (guy behind girl, hands on her hips as if to say, "That's right - this is my skanky ho," swaying to cheesy 80's love song).

Ah, the gray ponytail crowd. I went to a KISS concert a few years ago, and it looked exactly the same way. minus the high school peeps
I liked the lead guitarist's snakeskin cowboy boots.
I will start a lecture this week with the back-to-the-crowd-upraised-fist.
i understand you disturbance about the tight crotch area. long story short: i was with some friends and we were repelling and the guide was showing us how to tighten our ropes around our sitting area: he had on red gym shorts and an anatomy textbook couldn't have shown better detail. even the guys were embarrassed.
who was the girl from high school?
lauren holdefer.
i wouldn't say i'm an avid fan. more like just a fan.
amanda. we're all just living on a prayer. take my hand, we'll make it i swear.
