my nemesis

My desk is right beside the break room at work. Right now, I am listening to two engineers talk about football. This is pretty much a daily occurrence.

Have I ever mentioned that I hate football? Because I do. Loathe it. Probably about as much as people hate Hitler or terrorism or people who kill babies. These guys can talk for an hour straight (longer, I presume but they are limited by their allotted lunch time) about a game, a team, a coach, what's-his-face that plays for that team, missed passes. It makes me want to rip out my ear canals.

And then I'm told that if I don't like this sort of talk, I will not get married. Bull. Pies. I will find a man capable of intelligent conversation, thankyouverymuch.

I ADORE this kind of talk--I can talk about football for hours, too--BUT I think it has very little to do with marriagability.

i hate football. reid likes it. we understand this about each other and accept it. reid talks about it a little, and i'm ok with that. i talk about stuff he doesn't care about alot...like shoes or girly stuff. i guess you just compromise.

if the guys worth it.

I hate football and my boyfriend lives and breathes it (as well as every other sport). While he watches it, I read a magazine about expensive clothes and shoes. I will occasionally ask him questions about the game or get him to explain something to me to show that I'm slightly interested (even if I'm not). It's all good!

adam LOVES football...in fact, he played in highschool. he was a linebacker. back linesman. front forward.

ridiculous thought. i am thankful that adam cares as much about football as he does about fashion. non-footballers are out there. and they are wonderful.

Here Here! I would like a man who can go at least a week without mentioning football. Although I do love a good tailgating party...but I think that has to do with the beer and food, not so much the game itself

my suggestion - date a foreigner :) I did for 2 years and nary a comment was made about football

brian played football like every warm blooded alabamian boy~ all the way until college.
he never talks about it.
unless the guys he is with are fixated on it. then, he blends. ;)

You and C.J are sexy redheads. You will get married. Both of you, football or no. It would be ironic however, if C.J. married someone who hated football and you married someone with the last name of "Bryant." I would be amused.

Anonymous, I used to ask my boyfriend questions about the economy and the markets...then we got married. Now I just call him at work and scream a bunch on nonsense numbers at him like "Fannies are at 15!"
